St Michael's Mount looking magical
Before the Romans Mounts Bay was the port for the Greek traders from Massillia (Marseilles), looking for tin.
In the Norman era St Michael's Mount was originally a daughter house of Mont St Michael in Britanny.
It was fought over in the Civil War and was a refuge for Charles Prince of Wales in 1646.
Heavily renovated in the Victorian era, it looks as if it has been transported from Narnia.
