Dunedin - Tomahawk Beach

Predicted polar storm arrived today creating havoc in some areas of southern South Island - not as bad as forecast here in Dunedin.
High seas did some damage to the St.Clair Esplanade (which is behind me from this image) but that is par for the course when we persist in trying to bend mother nature to our whim and fancy. The high seas made for some fabulous wave action crashing onto the Esplanade, and local beaches, wetting unsuspecting voyeurs. I was not one of the wet ones but did enjoy the spectacle from a dryer vantage point. Bloody frigid too...quite bought tears to the eyes and a dip on the nose!
