Newton Arlosh
Newton Arlosh is a small farming village of and part of the Solway Coast Area of Natural Beauty. This is an example of a fortified church., St. John the Evangelist. It was left in ruins after the Dissolution of the Monasteries being repaired /extended in the 19th Century. It is now a Grade 1 Listed Building.
The day wasn't a particularly bright one, had it been the stone work would have been redder. It is a gem.
Newton Arlosh was on one of my cycling routes as it was flat! The only thing to worry about was wind from the sea.
From here I travelled to Maryport to meet up with three photographers at the Marina Cafe, to put the world to right, talk about photography and have a bacon sandwich, of course.
Oops- who can spot the dust spots?
