Natural Surroundings
This morning we headed off to the Natural Surroundings gardens on the Bayfield Estate. They have a lovely woodland cafe there which we have often used when on a walk and every time we visit we say we must have a look at the wildlife gardens surrounding the cafe, so today was the day.
The gardens are managed organically and sustainably and with a particular emphasis on wildlife. One area which had different poisonous plants was interesting; W was a bit concerned that the Hemlock looked a bit like flat leaved parsley. Most of the gardens are within woodland so with plants adapted to that environment; ferns, mosses etc. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
My main shot is a view from the garden out over the ornamental lake on the Bayfield Estate. I've added a couple of extras; 'on the boardwalk', and a small family of ladybirds.
