Going back to the past!

Today a lovely man who lived in our house came to see what his home, when he was a boy, had become.  Imagine our surprise when he told us that our comfortable kitchen(see blip) had originally been a coal shed with an outside toilet(now my larder).

The main stair case has changed direction, bedrooms were smaller....I could go on,but I'm sure you get the idea.  It was particularly interesting when he told us how he played down at our pond when he was young, spending many hours on his own.  He asked if he could walk down there alone.  He came back with so many memories.  A lovely afternoon and we will see him again, I'm sure!
