Vanilla Beans

I decided to make vanilla frozen yogurt today and the recipe called for 2 vanilla beans. I went to a store that said they had them, but couldn't find them, so I asked for help. The man directed me to the spice aisle and handed me a jar. The internet had warned me they would be expensive, so I was ready for the $6.50 price tag, but I was happy there were a bunch in the jar and I could use it for awhile.

So, I get home, open the jar, and find 2 beans. They used a whole jar, shrink wrapped and all, for only 2 beans. So, all things considered, it cost about $12 a quart. Good thing I love it!
