Wot a grey day!
Today could not have been more different from the last few. After several days of blue skies and sunshine we woke to a dismal and drizzly day. I had a doctor's appointment in the morning and had planned to walk down as Mrs M usually uses the car, but it was so mucky that I drove her down, visited the surgery and then picked her up. By that time it was blowing horizontal rain!
After lunch I drove down to the town again. Since the sub-branch of Boots, in the same building as the surgery, has closed, we now have to take our prescriptions down to the main Boots, which on a day like this means paying to park in the nearest car park and walking down to the chemist. Whatever are elderly or disabled residents supposed to do! And they're now having to enlarge the pharmacy counter at the main shop and employ more people! Doesn't really make sense.
After that I walked over to the station to pick up my tickets for a jaunt to London after Easter and to buy a new Senior Railcard. On the way out I spotted this lonely seagull waiting for something, food probably, and thought it rather summed up the gloomy day!
Random Quote of the Day: 'She looked like a huge ball of fur on two well-developed legs. Shortest dress I ever saw and a Frenchman said it begins so low and ends so soon'. Nancy Mitford (of Princess Margaret)
