Trip to Iceland: Diving Silfra

Another trip on the agenda, this time to amazing Iceland!

We arrived late on the 10th and went to bed immediately to get ready for our diving trip the next day. We were picked up at our Guest House and then brought to Thingvellir and the Silfra Rift - this is where the Eurasian and American continents drift apart. The water here is 2-4°C all year round, and is glacier water that has been filtered through the lava rocks for maaany years before ending up here. This results in AMAZING visibility - up to 150 meters! I was in a 7mm neoprene suit but had wetsuit gloves on, resulting in incredibly achy hands for the last 10 minutes or so of the dive, but what a divesite it was! If you're a scuba diver and want to see something out of the ordinary - go there!
