I bought him flowers

I had a couple of wobbles today about his appointment on Friday. If I’m feeling like this he must be even worse!
In true ‘us’ fashion they were reduced, probably surplus mother day flowers - they did the job! He keeps looking at them and thanking me.
Why do men very rarely get given flowers?
