Hard times. The men sticking up the bank are Ned Kelly, the famous bushranger, and a gang member. It's a sketch from 'Ned Kelly, the Authentic Illustrated History' by Keith McMenomy, 2001.  It's a real eye-opener in terms of exploring the social life of the times in which the Kelly gang operated, and leading to more of an understanding of causes, motives and interpretation of the outlaw period.
