Dracula's Whitby

Orla's P6 creative writing:

When I woke up, I didn't know where I was. The last thing I remember was my dreams. I was running away from someone, until I came across a statue of them, and I can't remember what happened next. I couldn't remember where I fell asleep, but it certainly wasn't here. Really, all I could remember was that my name was Alex, and I was 25 years old. It was the dead of night, and I was on a path on a cliff, next to a graveyard next to the ocean.

When I started walking up the path I started remembering more of my dream. I was in the exact same place. I recognised the path, the trees, even the crows looked familiar. The only difference was that no one was chasing me also so I thought. I looked up the hill, and saw an abandoned church, or house, but whatever it was there must have been people there, in which I was right, but not in a good way.

When I stepped in, I saw a large and airy courtyard, with a scared looking statue in the middle, pointing at a hole in the wall, so i went through the tunnel. I found myself in an eerie, dark, creepy hallway. I could hear dripping water, I could feel myself shivering, and could suddenly feel my feet and ankles being drenched in ice-cold water in a large room with a very low roof held up by thin wooden planks. I was in a room with red, demonic candles on top of open coffins, covered in blood. In the middle of the room there was a statue of a pretty woman, looking and pointing up at the roof. But, when I got closer, I realised that the woman's reflection, was a skeleton.

I felt terrified out of my skin. But suddenly, the roof fell down into a slope, which led outside. I run out, and found myself in a ruined church, when my heart stopped. Someone was playing an organ. I stepped forward to read the Bible on the bloody altar, and realised it wasn't a Bible at all. It read “We have been waiting many years for you, Alex. We will be freed by your sacrifice on the vampire's wife's death day”. Suddenly, I saw a large bat on the roof swoop down on me, as my sacrifice commenced!
