Don't Shut Up....

....that was the name of the competition, and it caught many a Sparrows keen eye.

However the initial slogan wasn't quite what it seemed. You had to turn up, memorise a sheet of 'facts' which some would say were very uninteresting - and surely drive the patience of a Saint insane.

You were to tell them to a 'friend' of yours in such an interesting way in 5 minutes, said friend would be able to remember them after you've told them, and recount them.

What sounded simple was actually not, and brought the level of listening to bull#%%# to a whole new level, but one where your friend would surely remember you for the rest of their life...

But George was up for it, so was his mate - Dick, over a meal - and really good supply of drink, naturally. Incredibly, George won, with Dick somehow managing to recount most of it, winning them both a luxury Spa weekend for their families.
