Squashed Together

Bought a half-price squash the other day (past it’s Best Before Date - really? It’s a squash!), thought I’d make soup today, changed my mind and did a curry instead. Good decision!
Was at the allotment all afternoon enjoying a rare but welcome bit of sunshine. Lifted the last of last year’s spuds but a bit disappointing as they’d been ravaged by a deadly eelworm and wireworm offensive. Little bastards, well fed though. This year’s salads and whatever will go in that patch, here’s hoping the pests stay full up with spud for a long time.
