Stanage Edge and Hope Valley

Stuck for a blip today, Mrs. Bob suggested I go back to yesterday's spot and shoot the view the other way with a different millstone.

So, if a series can be two items, here it is!!

The millstone is below the start of Stanage Edge in the Dark peak. It is very popular with rock climbers and walkers. The views from the top are stunning.

If you view this shot LARGE, the first major hill you can see is Thornhill Brink. Then is Lose Hill, Hollins Cross, Mam Tor and Rushup Edge. In the far distance is Edale, the start of the Pennine Way. The backdrop are the moors above Edale and Kinder Scout just out of shot.

Thank you for lifting yesterday's millstones to No. 1 in the Spotlight. I am intending to cope with comments I haven't yet replied to this evening.

Today was also quite a sad and joyful day. One of my drystone wallers fell in love with my mother's Fiat Panda which she gave to my second eldest son. He doesn't use it as it is 24 years old! It is in immaculate condition having covered only 9,000 mile and it has been garaged all its life.

Sean loved it so much John decided to let him have it. However he did keep her number plate which is apparently quite valuable, 1 EGG, which he has had put on his VW Polo last year.
