Bird Watchers
We traveled to Francis Beidler Audubon Center about 2 hours from my house today to hunt up a few birds. Hoping to see a barred owl and some other birds we had great hopes that it would happen. But not to be.
But we did happen upon a pair of prothonotary warblers...bright yellow birds with dark gray/blue/black wing feathers. And we saw a snake...a brown water snake sunning on a board. A good elevated boardwalk with many cypress/tupelo trees in the swamp.
We then traveled to the Edisto Rose Garden but only a few roses were in bloom right now. The garden did have beautiful azaleas but we have been seeing them everywhere...including my yard. A walk by the Edisto River was nice.
We have had a couple of long days but tomorrow we are heading out to Phinizy Park in Augusta to try to see more birds and maybe an alligator or two. I went there a few weeks ago so I have high hopes that we will be lucky.
Only two more days of adventures as Connie and Diane fly home on Tuesday. I hope to add some photos to the extras when I get more time...starting with Bull Island photos and more from the past days. Too late and too tired!
