Easter bun pedantry

We bought our first hot cross buns today. Too early of course, but the supermarkets have been selling them since Boxing Day.
 
Strange things are happening to hot cross buns. I avoided the chocolate ones (yuck) but then was confronted by these ‘mini fruit buns’. The buns are clearly ‘mini’ but does it mean the fruit is ‘mini’ as well? I did find some standard size buns, but they were ‘fruitless’. Well, I can understand that looking for the authentic easter bun taste in a bun that contains no fruit could be described as ‘fruitless’.
