this is a cylinder of ruby red glass bisected into two compartments with silver caps at either end. perhaps it may have been made in India.
one end is decorative - as shown here. the other has end has some initials which i can't make out there's probably an M, a C, a B, and a T - have no idea who this belonged to, but it either came via my paternal or maternal grandparents. as far as i know they didn't serve in India. one side of the family were doctors who mostly served in Africa, particularly doing work with leprosy (as it was called at the time).
it's a victorian double ended scent bottle - but i wonder who's it was.
