A little geocaching trip and a hospital visit
Went doing a bit of caching this morning with my pals, Margaret and Ian. We did an adventure lab cache (5 stages) and three earthcaches. It was a wet and windy, miserable morning, with sleety rain and the wind was biting. After the caching we adjourned to the cafe and warmed up.
This afternoon I took Terry for his appointments with the orthopaedic surgeon and the physiotherapist at Fairfield Independent Hospital at Crank. He walked in carrying his crutches and left them with the physio. The physio discharged him and gave him some exercises to do after the 6 week mark. Mr Emms, the surgeon also discharged him. He had the xrays of both hip replacements up (the first one, the left hip, was in January 2017). He has an appointment for a check xray in 6 months time. Terry gave Mr Emms the pen he'd made for him and Mr Emms impressed Terry by telling him he still has the one he made him last time. Amazing he remembers! He said the last one was pale wood and Terry told him this one is acrylic. He asked Terry how he makes them so Terry gave him a brief outline re turning them on the wood lathe. Mr Emms said he likes pens but doesn't bring good ones to work as they go missing - plus he demonstrated how his jacket makes pens disappear into the lining - then he said, "That's why I keep running late; I talk so much shit!"
I think the best news for Terry was when he asked Mr Emms if he could drive and was told he could.
