Els Diables

The village Diables (devils), returning to avenge the Verro.

The legend of the Verro is about an enormous, fierce wild boar who was killed by the people of the village because they were so terrified of him. (Last night's festival included the fact that the poor old verro was pushed out of his habitat by greedy builders, taking more and more forest to develop into housing estates or golf courses. A sign of the times!)
Every 29th June there is a fire festival put on by the Diables, to avenge the verro. A very impressive show.
