View from Windy Door Nick

A walk up the Pentlands from Boghall Farm, to Windy Door Nick, which sits between Caerketton and Allermuir hills. Great views, even at this level. True to its name, the wind was blowing a hoolie and we just about got blown over. Boghall Farmhouse is now the headquarters of the Pentland Regional Park but for a few years it was my family home and we often used to walk up here. The farm looks very different but the hills are just the same.

In this picture you can see Edinburgh, with Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags rising above the city, across the River Forth to Fife and all the way down the coast to North Berwick, Berwick Law and the Bass Rock.
