Manchester Day II

First up, after a variety of hot filled barms, was to get on the tram to those Salford Quays. Blimey, quite windy, and a cold wind at that. We gawped at the BBC building but there was no sign of any celebs. Over to the Lowry for a mooch about, taking in a couple of videos. What an interesting and very strange man indeed.
P&K then departed while we went over to the IWM north. And coincidentally a group of schoolkids were gathered round for a "meet a veteran" session. So gather round we did too, as there was Bernard Morgan, who landed in Normandy on D-Day as a 20 year old. And sharp as a button he is. Quite a privilege to hear him and of course the SK went over for a natter later.
Then into town to look about the Castlefield viaduct before the SK disappeared northward (Lucy & Yak) and I went off to check out The Britons Protection. Tick. The rain came tipping down so I caught a tram back to the hotel rather than walk but the Fierce Bar briefly intervened.
An evening out the same bar, on to an Italian followed by a call in at the jazz place and finally a bourbon to watch Helgoland with. Enjoyable nonsense.
