Idol of Mud and Water

After a routine morning in appalling weather I spent the afternoon in the Tramway, the sun came out and I sauntered home through Pollokshields feeling almost warm.

The purpose of my visit was to catch the last day of the Fonds photography exhibition which tells the stories of Govanhill through some of the residents most treasured objects.

It was this extravagant sculpture in another exhibition space that caught my eye. And my throat since the mist circulating around it seemed to contain large amounts of chlorine or something similar. It is the work of Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, a Columbian artist who explores coexistent belief systems expressed in human-animal sculptures.

Popped into St Ninian’s and had an interesting chat with L. Might give it a go.
