Kim Collins

Ballet exam this morning. According to Carys it went well. We now have to wait for approximately 10days to see how well.

Flew up the motorway to Birmingham to watch the Diamond League. Carys was disappointed that the wasn't any 'proper' sportshall with certificates, only have a go and see stuff. She even collared the big boss who gave out the certificates last year to ask why! Not backward in coming forward my girl!

Brilliant seats. Front row, right behind the high jump, on the way to and from the mixed zone, so great views of the athletes for Carys. Sadly the G4S guys were a little heavy handed with the autograph hunting kids, so despite the great positioning she didn't get any autographs until it had all finished.

Brilliant performances today from Jess Judd, James Dasaulo, PSD and of course Mo Farah. My blip is however, Kim Collins, one of the best loved athletes on the circuit (and at 37 one of the oldest) and one of my favourites.

After Mo's scintillating 5k win, we decided to hang around for a bit in order to avoid the car park chaos. Carys was then rewarded with autographs from Mark Lewis Francis and Tom Parsons. Then she stopped a certain Iwan Thomas in his tracks, after he had said no more autographs , by shouting his name. He turned, looked and said "You're too cute to say no to" and signed for her too.

Still took half an hour to get out of the car park, but C went to sleep before 18.50 so it wasn't too bad. Silverstone traffic meant I took a detour round Northampton to get home but we were back by 20.30 having started the engine at 18.00. Looking forward to the Anniversary Games now.
