How Good is This?
That's what Essy said each time she passed us on her first ride on the Yamaha 125.
The 5 Leura grandchildren plus 3 visiting and one extra child came to the farm this afternoon. They loved the bikes. Elizabeth, Hugh, Henry and Ruby all rode the little Yamaha 80. The other 3 girls (not Jane) went for pillion rides behind Graham. Even the visiting dad who hadn't ridden a bike before was hooked.
After a couple of circuits Elizabeth graduated to the bigger 125. I fear after having stolen it from them, the grandchildren are about to repossess it.
The morning was spent doing our civic duty. Mr isbi helped on the Rotary BBQ at the Gnome Convention (yes, I know!!) in Blackheath. I was assisting to fly the flag for the RFS at the Megalong Market Day with a stall and fire truck for kids to climb on.
The farmers markets have only been running for a couple of years but with enormous crowds and traffic jams in the perfect weather I fear they may become a victim of their own success. You would not want to have been leaving the valley by the only road at about 3pm.
It was warm enough for the kids to have a swim in the pool after the motorcycling and traditional farm Easter egg hunt.
Then we had an early BBQ before they left. Brother in law, James, is staying in his tiny house on the farm so he joined us too.
