Marsh marigolds in our pond

Made a fine sight reflecting in the warm spring sunshine this afternoon. How nice not to have rain today.

The strangest of days. It’s just the two of us here tonight. Barbara and David went back to Edinburgh this morning. This is the first time in 27 years that we are just the two of us. Doreen has been an ever present in our lives together and this is the first evening she’s not with us.

Traditions must go on…. Saturday evening. All dressed up and apéritifs ready. Peri-peri tray bake for dinner, preceded by rollmops and followed by hot cross buns (all being well, they’re still proving as I write). Chocolate will be involved of course.

Over in California our 6 year old grandson Landon has been playing (American) football which by all accounts he has some aptitude for. He loves his sport especially basketball and soccer.
