What's happening over there?
The collared doves turned out to be wood pigeons. Well, you live and learn.
The small birds, tits and finches, are so acrobatic, flying in at speed and twisting at the last moment to land sideways on a fatball or a twig. The wood pigeons are the opposite. They come fluttering in and almost flop into the snow a bit away. Having landed they gather themselves, look around and then waddle over to stand under the feeders and peck at the discarded seeds.
