Inadvertent art
We made a day trip to Tenby in the south of the county. About as different from the north coast as Provence is from Brittany. Well, almost.
Tenby is a classic seaside resort with sandy beaches, ice cream, fish&chips and tourists. It's also a town much beloved of artists whose galleries abound and it's not unusual to see them painting the colourful houses that overlook the harbour. This is a working harbour too with sheds and lock-ups all along the rear wall above the beach, below the street. Traditionally, fishermen and boat people repair and paint their craft outside and when they've finished the job they wipe their brushes on the stonework alongside the doors. They've been doing this for years and the result is an unintentional abstract that rivals the town's signature aesthetic: coloured walls.
A couple of extras show more art plus some dejected pigeons.
