a mountain sunrise…

…on holy saturday

that in between time

aka ‘waiting’

there is something very - breathtaking about a sunrise - would you agree - the way darkness gives - way to dawn - singing awake every living - thing with the promise of abba s - magnificent mercies, never failing - and always new

but do we consider beautiful - the time in between the - rising and setting of the sun - that more ordinary life - in between which isn’t necessarily - blazing with extraordinary colors - but is just steady and mundane

this is where we are - on holy saturday as we find ourselves - waiting for a Son who entered - a tomb and will be raised - on resurrection sunday - it’s a time to rest - and contemplate all he - has done and the hope he brings - for everyone everywhere - to rest is an invitation - for all of us who may be - confused, lonely, depressed - anxious, dealing with loss - it’s an offer to live in that in between - time and see the hope - that is coming however vague it might be - or feel because even - in vagueness you can find rest

so we wait - to behold a most glorious Son rise tomorrow - and the ultimate hope - he is bringing to us - so we can once again - claim it to be…
