A Day at the Beach

I came upon this family enjoying the warm weather and the Rio Grande. I felt happy for them, but I had to find my solitude.

~ The clouds drifted south, pushed by intermittently fierce north winds.
Canada geese honked their displeasure at being disturbed by a dog.
A rooster crowed from across the river.
A lark's lilting song sifted through the noise debris.
The wind riffled the river and the river spoke up.
A hoolie's starting to blow...time to go.
