Identifying bird song using the Merlin App

A short walk down the lane and across the field which started off well and ended up with me feeling rough by the time I got home.  I was reminded about the Merlin app that can identify birds, so I had an idea that I would stop take a photo in each place I stopped and enable the app to listen and identify the bird calls that surrounded me.  Mainly it was the birds I see in the garden but there was a wren which I don't see (I'm not sure why) and a song thrush - which I only see in the midst of winter.  I think because I ended up feeling unwell and I spent time trying to contact the doctor so my initial idea didn't come to anything.
