Hens and hedges

I walked down the bottom of the garden to say hello to our hens gathered in the corner of their patch! I would love them to be able to roam the whole garden but there's no way that can happen as Reg would be chasing them the whole time and very likely catching them too! Definitely not something I would like to watch. 
We had a hedge layer come to cut the trees and lay the hedge which runs along the public footpath down the side of the garden. Since then Barry has been cutting and laying around the rest of the enclosure. It's like an extra little garden which edges the quarry below. In the extra you can see in the opposite direction and one of the huge piles of wood that he is cutting to dry for fire wood or shredding for the garden. Also the quarry and relation to the house. It's been a huge job but is just about finished. It will hopefully make  much thicker hedging all around and be easier to maintain in the future. The hens have loved rooting about in it all!
