Scottish Black Face Sheep
The Scottish Blackface sheep breed are a hardy sheep. They are horned, and have a black face and spotted legs. They have a coarse fleece, with a dense coat. The Blackface fleece is now predominantly used in carpets, some finer grades are used in tweed textiles.
The Suffolk breed are used for meat in this country.
On Easter Sunday it is traditional to eat lamb, so I did a bit of research. I liked the look of the Scottish Blackface, but it is not used so much for meat. However, it does make a good picture.
Our church service was very joyful this morning, with the children doing a little playlet ...... the Roman soldiers were quite outstanding, as was the little angel!
And the sun has shone all day!
