Illustraton!

This illustrated 'Interphase 6 - Journal of the Biological Society, Queen Mary college' - our college magazine.  I think they managed one a year!  This was an illustration of an article by Richard Hastings on the 'Birds of the Farnes.'  I gather from reading the editorial that the illustrations are by Miss Christine Betterten.

This morning we first had the visit of the little ones plus Mum and Dad to hunt for Easter eggs!! Then Ro went off to the match and J and I had a great time looking back on my college notes.  We were very interested in just how much was known about the DNA molecules at the time.  Watson and Crick had worked out the structure of the double helix around 1962 so that by the time I went to college I  was fascinated by the way this long strand of DNA might be wound round itself etc to fit into relatively short chromosomes.

I'm presuming that has since been sorted!  We discussed all sorts of things and then went for a walk in the dry!!  The sky promised a beautiful day last night and has delivered!
