Cornelian Bay
Up early this morning for a day out to Scarborough. We decided to go by train and avoid all the traffic and congestion on the A64. Our first stop was a cappuccino in the cafe at the top of the old cliff lift. You usually get a great view of South Bay from there, but the sea fret rolled in, and we could hardly see the sea! We then walked along the cliffs to Cornelian Bay and scrambled down to the shore. We used to come here a lot when the boys were little, and it was much more of a scramble than I remembered. Or maybe I'm much less agile these days! Anyway, we made it and had a lovely wander along the pebbly beach and sat on a rock to eat our sandwiches. As we were having our lunch, the sun broke through, the fog lifted, and it became really quite warm.
The photo shows Cornelian Bay in the sunshine after we'd clambered back up.
