It’s not often I have a free Sunday, so I headed out for a walk on the Heath before it got busy. I think I’ve mentioned it’s a Chalk Grassland Heath and as such it’s a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Today I noticed the new signs relating to the nesting birds. The skylarks are amazing, you can hear them singing high up in the sky and watch as they come down to land. I’ve yet to see a Meadow pipit.
