Franklin Marsh 5

The construction at the Franklin Marsh section of Holbrook Hollows is almost done. They added a parking lot, a small building for storage???, water fountains, a shelter with picnic tables, a playground, a gravel path to Holbrook Hollows, a gravel path down to the marsh, and a large unusual terraced platform with a small built in bench. No rails yet. The lumber still smells fresh. Apparently no restrooms for the kiddies and hikers. Huh.

It’s all very nice but I’m wondering why the marsh was drained a few years ago. It never regained its higher water level and related animal life.
