Blackheath Triffids

We have a new sculpture in Blackheath. It's meant to represent orchids which was a bit of a surprise to everyone. We wondered what the relevance was but apparently there is a native orchid. Not this big I assume.
The workers were putting the finishing touches on today but unfortunately I missed the sparks from the welding which had attracted my attention.
I don't mind the sculpture but don't know why they put it right in front of a derelict shed, which is only attractive to blippers. There are so many more scenic spots available.
The only connection to today's theme of "Things on Fences" is I was leaning on the fence across the road hoping for more welding.
