King of the Heap

We have a hen pheasant mooching about in our damp garden, I saw her seeing off a suitor this morning and then eating the remains of the hedgehog food.

Later on a grey and damp dogwalk, I came across this fine fellow, stood atop a pile of 'straw' in the field. I don't think it's ours.
