Compassion fatigue

Until a few weeks ago there was a café here for Ukrainian refugees. I drank coffee there a few times. I suppose the money ran out, along with people's interest as we stare at the latest atrocity, somehow being perpetrated by the people who, above all peoples, should know where this leads. The latest atrocity about which we do nothing, about which our glorious government are trying to make it illegal to speak, to think.

And next year Putin's useful idiot will be 'leader of the free world'.

It's hard to find hope.
