Prom evening

My daughter's prom evening, and getting her into a dress was an achievement in itself. Respect to my beloved for managing that.
Some are understandably concerned that such an American institution is becoming such a feature in the UK, but I am fairly relaxed about it; with education and training continuing for such a long time for young people and in such a variety of contexts, it's nice to have a fixed point which is a rite of passage for the end of the "baseline" conventional education.
