Fabric and politics

Yesterday l met a friend in town to see the Fabric and Politics exhibition at the Barbican centre.  I think, on the whole, l was unimpressed, there were some stunning pieces of fabric woven into fantastical designs but there was also an amount of fairly amateurish work and videos.  The one piece of work that l was totally impressed with was a  large tapestry (shown at top of collage).  I walked around the back of the tapestry (the red collage insert) and liked almost as much as the front.
