Swanlets ...

There are a gazillion swans on the River Esk. They spend their days swimming from Musselburgh to Portobello. As far as I can tell, only one swan family had wee ones this year. There were six, alas, now there are only five.

Not sure if the big swans take it in turns to have swanlets ... or whether there's a queen and king like system which means the same swans churn out the signets every year.

Anyway ... here they are & if only the zoom was better on my phone camera, you could see the gazillion others at the mouth of the Esk doing their daily swimenade to Porty.
