Travelling down to a family wedding near Derby became a little more complicated due to the train strike, which affect different operators on different days.
Cross Country and East Midland were both affected, so there were no trains to Derby itself, but Northern were running, so we were able to make use of their Leeds - Nottingham service to get most of the way. From Nottingham there is a frequent express bus to Derby, so after a walk across the city centre we soon found ourselves Derby bound and 40 minutes later had arrived.
We enjoyed a nice meal at Trattoria Lalis, just around the corner from our apartment, and had a quick look around Derby City centre. Coincidentally, Sister #2 and family had booked into adjacent accommodation, so we spent part of the evening catching up with them.
Today's image comes from our walk across Nottingham: The Council House and Old Market Square with animated pigeons.
