Moiety

Some very talented friends of mine had a show as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival. Eat My Noise are Peter Power and Dave Duffy, and produced by Irene O'Mara.

They devised a piece called 'Moiety'. Tomas Gall, a jazz fusion drummer, played drums, and Alex Petcu, a classical percussionist, played marimbas. There were three marimbas, a wooden one, a steel one, and a uniquely-commissioned glass marimba, which they call a 'crystalophone'. Peter and Dave used laptops to manipulate the sounds and add layers of electronic music. Another friend, Sara Wentworth, made an amazing light design for the piece.

The music was incredible. I was utterly exhilarated within the first ten minutes, and sad when it ended after an hour. My friends are so talented!
