Warr, War and worn out
Although the distance wasn't very great, we had a fairly long day involving an awful lot of traffic jamming on our motorbikes in which I led for the most part. After a quick stop to see the magnificent De La Warr pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea, we meandered up and down through Hastings to snap a photograph outside a grand house called St Just, which was featured in Foyle's War as the residence of the eponymous character, Detective Sup. Int. Christopher Foyle.
We followed with a big lunch at a biker(ish – it was actually very good!) cafe not far away, and some more high energy urban riding led us to Portsmouth and an evening trip to and from the Isle of Wight on the hovercraft!
It was dark when we rode the dozen miles to our hotel but I was desperately braintired by then and after dealing with some excessively headlamped boy racers I lost all my concentration, navigated extremely poorly and was glad to let BikerBabe take the lead for the final stretch.
