Kanazawa

I doubt whether I’d heard of the city of Kanazawa before this trip to Japan. It’s a small city on the west coast of Honshu, the main central island of Japan, mainly famous for its wonderful Kenrokuen Garden. We spent a couple of hours there this morning. My main photo is of a Japanese family enjoying the cherry blossom. I couldn’t resist adding 2 extras of Kenrokuen. 

This afternoon we travelled by Shinkansen (bullet train) to Nagano and then by bus to Matsumoto in the Japanese Alps. Tonight some of us in our tour group relaxed at an Izikaya, an eating and drinking place similar to what many of us would call a pub - third extra.
