Spring Flowers Show
Went along in the afternoon to Saughton Park Gardens which had the Caley Spring Bulb Flowers Show. Entries from young & old, first timers, amateurs to folk that compete regularly, most from locally.
So many beautiful daffodils. Mine are a bit weather torn with the rains & winds, didn't attempt an entry, maybe try next year.
There was a display of lots (think 37 types) the man from NTS said of daffodils collection from Greenbank Glasgow. Will need to have a look at that, never heard of it before.
Lovely display of all the flowers & the flowers in bowls was interesting too.
They had to move from the tent because of the winds into a smaller room which was a bit warmer, the hyacinths scent (stunk) out the room as well as the daffodils. Sadly, some looked a bit droopy or a few dropped petals but they probably looked even better on Friday afternoon.
Liked this mix of flowers, a bit more unusual but also had a beastie on walkabout. (Think it's a beastie that some plant folk don't like.)
Lovely sunny day but very windy.
