The Met office weather map showed the rain clearing about 9.30 so I set off at the first hint of brightness. North to Rydal Hall . . . two miles with a tailwind for most of it. I had a coffee at the tea shop then took a 4 minute bus ride back to Ambleside.

Thought I might have spotted some lambs but instead it was three small calves that I passed. There’s one in the collage.
