City Encroachment

Just round the corner from us is the intersection of 2 major Mexican streets: Periferico and Palmas. This is a part of the city which keeps climbing upwards and consuming formerly-grand, residential properties as they go.

Only about a month ago, there was a building to the left of the house in the centre. But that's now gone and a slender 20 storeys-or-so of corporate offices will be slotted in its place instead.

Considering the prices that developers are willing to pay for these little plots of land, I don't imagine it will be too long before the other 2 houses will disappear from the city.

All very reminiscent of Ireland during the Celtic Tiger. Lets hope things work out better here.
