Eating itself out of house and home...

Not sure what this plant is, but it was absolutely full of these quite large snails which were clearly making a serious effort to munch through its leaves. This can't be a sustainable approach on the part of the gastropods, but maybe an intervention by a couple of blackbirds would help restore some balance!
